Hi,

I thought I'd share my front end beak conversion with you. Just beat in mind I'm a carpenter not an engineer lol. It was almost a bit too much work for me but I'm pleased with the finish. There are a couple of things I will change next season but for now I'm happy, indicators to follow

Agree, the original beak was a bit skinny too, I just wanted to update the look, love the bike even more now, will keep all the bits to standardise it at any time

You might need longer bolts so they go thru the nylocks ..they look a bit short ...cool job tho :) think I'll stick with the gonzo one on mine ...lol

Ha ha !! I knew someone would spot that lol, all in hand,my mate spotted that yesterday , well spotted !

Could you make me some more pictures of the process? I just got my beak in and want to change it next week. How did you mount it etc? Could you make some detailed pics?

kind Regards, Paul

Hi Paul, I'm not sure I can show you much more to be honest now is mounted , it was kind of work in progress on the fly . I did it over the winter. If you think you can achieve the conversion over a weekend u may be disappointed ! There is quite a lot of fabrication work involved to make a clean look. I used cardboard to make templates then had some steel work made. It's worth doing but not rushing . Concentrate on seeing where you can pick up the mounting points and go from there. The hardest part is filling the gap Infront of the oil cooler . Good luck it's worth doing imo

So, that will be path I will follow. What have you constructed the gap piece from? Is it completely metal? I have noticed all models have quite a large gap in front of the oil cooler, even the newer model R1200GS.
