My 2022 R1250GS Adventure Megamoto

Reggie.

What is the purpose of the handlebar cover?

Is it just for show? I do like it though….

I bought the crossbar because i lock my helmet to it with a cable lock. The handlebar cover is for show. I like it too…

How is the crossbar secured? Just thinking if it could be easily removed with helmet by thieves?

Bit off eBay bargain bling added today.

By Allen key. It was more a quick solution. Wouldn’t be leaving it overnight.

Just back from dealer today after first service and HP head and front engine cover fitted.

Weather looks crap this weekend. Really wanting to get some miles on it.

Will fit the Wunderlich toolbox and get some pics up.

And that is me ready for 2022 and the 10k miles challenge…..

Anything from a Watercooled bike. So 2013 onwards will bolt straight on.

Front should be no bother (maybe make some spacers) but are the R/RS/RT rears swappable onto the GS(A) without the wheel then being offset to one side? I read that the K1300 wheel can be used, but that results in an offset wheel. Is that the same for the LC R/RS/RT rears or do they maintain alignment?

It would appear from the wheel offsets that the GS wheel has 14mm more negative offset than that of the R/RS/RT. This means that an R/RS/RT wheel on the std. GS will be offset 14mm to the right, which means spacers cannot be used to bring it into line. Hence the need for a different SwingArm. :blast

Needless to say, if anyone has a suitable S/A, please let me know. Or indeed a front wheel with discs etc.

Thanks, I think that was sold. Could do with confirmation that all non GS (i.e. R/RS/RT) LC SwingArms are all the same.

I have done a quick check on Realoem and all the models you quote above have the same swingarm part no. 33358525239. So the answer is yes. The swingarm is the same as the one I had, so your plan should work. Good luck with that.

As I said in PM, thanks for that. Should have checked that myself, but much appreciated.

If you change one wheel at a time and run around for 5 miles or so then the TPMS are automatically registered and recognised.
My 17" front with BMW sensor took about a mile or so to be recognised.

Does that result in both pairs of wheels being registered, so you could then swap them around and the TPMS would immediately work with whatever wheels were installed?

Pondering this SwingArm issue while waiting for mine to be delivered (SwingArm and bike). Has anyone actually done this swap and confirmed that it does bring the wider wheel into line?

I realise that e.g. the S/A on an R1250R with its correct wheel will be in line and that the wheels are aligned on a GS with its different wheel offset, which means the final drive units must be in a different location on the 2 models. However, that could be achieved by a S/A with a different angle (sideways), or by mounting the S/A offset in the frame. So the question then is, do all these boxers have the same S/A mount position in the frame and hence the S/A differs in order to provide a different offset to the wheel, or is the S/A the same and the frame made with a different S/A mount position?

A lot more complicated to explain than grasp I think. Anyway, the proof is whether changing the S/A does move the Final Drive unit (and hence wheel mount plane) and bring the wider (R/RS/RT) wheel into line when used in the GS?

It'll be a few weeks before I could make any actual measurements and comparisons, so would be good to hear from anyone who has actually done the S/A swap and can confirm it does move the wheel mount, so the wider wheel is in line. Anyone?
