Hi all , need some advice for those in the know.

I have a 2022 1250gs with 37,000 miles on the clock . Over the last 3-4 months i have noticed that what was a buttery smooth gears i am now feeling a notch when changing up and down the box. Sometimes i get a nice change but more bad than good these days sometime a mis gear or even a crunch.
So far have checked the gear linkage for stiction and also check for clutch drag and slippage . all are fine from what i can see.
Thought maybe linked to gear assist pro so did transmission and assist relearn . still no change .
Would say bike is slightly better when stone cold.

Not sure where to go next or what to check , and if honest dont want to do the dealer route unless i can help it. Any tip advise would be greatly appreciated .Or worst case anyone know of a good BMW tech in Essex/south of England area could be a last resort.

Thx in advance J,

Alternately, try Paul at MotoDP, Rayleigh - BMW approved and has a reputation second to none locally - you can reach Paul on 07738 161707

UPDATE !!! Clutch fluid change and bled. Engine oil and filter change. Gear linkage cleaned and lubricated. Transmission adaptations reset and re-learned with Motoscan. No clutch slip, although a small amount of clutch drag when on stand and i hit 1st gear . Can stop wheel from spinning with a little force. I am thinking new clutch next as run out of ideas and cant think of any other routes . Unless anyone out there can offer new information

Have you ridden it? Still poor shifting?

Yep ride to work today , I think oil change made a tiny improvement . But still getting poor shifts where it feels like clutch is not engaging correctly , especially going up the box . Down is better ..

BMW dealers replace the shaft drive unit on 1200 and 1250 water boxers for free every 36,000 miles. Its claimed to be merely a precaution, but it could easily be where the roughness comes from.

NB on the 1300 models this is chargeable to the customer!

Hey RS shaft already replaced last December , so happy that's not the issue . 👍

It does seem to coincide to when the shaft was changed though, 3-4 months ago? I'm clutching at straws really, I can't see how a supposedly new shaft could cause an issue, can't really install one wrong as far as I know but, it does seem a coincidence.
