She took two weeks to get here from two blocks east of the Trevi fountain, Rome, Italy.

She's here now and settled in comfortably.

I suppose I'll be looking for period panniers now.

Very very nice....:)

I seem to remember you mentioning that you had always wanted one or were looking for one (possibly when that nice Daytona Orange one was sold here a while back)

Anyway, it's a lovely thing, is there much of a story with it ??

It belonged to a law firm partner in Rome since 2002 and he bought it from another lawyer in Gorizia.

It was registered in Italy as a historic classic with their bike federation FMI.

I have an envelope full of receipts and she got new cylinders, pistons, valves and guides in 2008.

Since then she's been regularly serviced by BMW Roma.

While walking her into position in my bike stable I thought she was heavier than I expected - I'll check the tyre pressures. Definitely not as easy to walk backwards as my R9T or Monster.

She might have been in the hands of my former mechanic at BMW Roma. Top guy.

Lovely bike it looks pristine. Is it in 'turnkey' condition or are there things you need to do to it before you ride it in anger!

She's good to go as she is right now.

The last owner used to ride her regularly to his office in the centre of Rome.

That is one gorgeous looking bike, and even better in “turn-key” condition when bought.

I hope the weather stays nice, and you get to enjoy your new toy.

Health to ride.

Thank you very much for your kind sentiments.

Apparently, the weather is about to turn really shite, up here, with gale force winds so I may well spend my time bonding with her using S100, solvol autosol, dusters and other polishing stuff!
