She took two weeks to get here from two blocks east of the Trevi fountain, Rome, Italy.

She's here now and settled in comfortably.

I suppose I'll be looking for period panniers now.

Just two items missing to match the period poster.

It belonged to a law firm partner in Rome since 2002 and he bought it from another lawyer in Gorizia.

It was registered in Italy as a historic classic with their bike federation FMI.

I have an envelope full of receipts and she got new cylinders, pistons, valves and guides in 2008.

Since then she's been regularly serviced by BMW Roma.

While walking her into position in my bike stable I thought she was heavier than I expected - I'll check the tyre pressures. Definitely not as easy to walk backwards as my R9T or Monster.

Many thanks for the reply...:thumb2

Looking forward to hearing what you think of it once get get that chance to ride it...:)

Well done Iain, gorgeous looking bike
I think that was worth waiting for. I find the presents you give yourself are always the best :D

Health & weather to enjoy :beerjug:

Thank you.

I've now polished everything that needed polished and she's looking better now!

This is, definitely, the best birthday present I've given myself!

Agreed, lovely bike....probably still be around when we are all gone !:D
One of the few bikes I have owned that I genuinely regret selling ( sold it to buy a new Kawasaki Z1100R1 Eddie Lawson:blast )

That Bike is lovely, I had two of them, both smoke silver, one in 1975/6 when it was new(ish!) and bought another one about 12 years ago, got it all up and running (with a bit(lot)) of help them sold her as wasn't really using her. Now retired and wish I had kept her:blast Sometimes still wonder if the original one is still about VLF 49M where are you? More pics of a polished R90s please... Cheers,:beerjug:John B
