So, I give the TB a good, stiff work-out over the weekend on the South West Peninsula Rally - a kind of two-wheel treasure hunt, involving a 300-mile plus Saturday of everything from fast A-roads to goat-tracks.
Got back early Sunday, tired and dirty but happy. Washed bike and self, prior to heading off to Heathrow for a flight. Wheeled bike into garage, put it over turntable and attempted to lift it onto the centre-stand. Weight in the (still-fitted luggage) and the change to the stand angle caused by the turntable meant a little more effort was required than normal, so I duly applied more weight through my right foot when BANG...a noise like a bullet, a feeling like I'd been shot in the leg and stars were in the air!
Turns out I'd torn a calf-muscle and am looking at 8-12 weeks recovery time - currently on crutches.
Fortunately, the side-stand was down so at least I didn't get squashed by the bike at the same time, so I guess it could have been worse.
So easy to do something like this, watch out boys. Those bikes can bite...
