My GS Today

Oh and Grafham water is a keen place for doggers. The wife told me that, how she knows I'm not sure..... We have a cat!

Took the day off today to get some home jobs done and earn some brownie points, after only having the bike for 3 days, I think I'm going to need loads!!

Took a few pictures and found a great trick with the head light. (Not sure if this link will work but..)

Bike looks fantastic mate!!

All LED lights flicker on video like that - first time I saw my 800 on a video I got a surprise too!

Welcome

To the new intake

New to the BM fold The young dashing excitable bucks

The younger man that wants, nay demands all the latest gadgets and gizmo,s

Wants more apps on his bike than his i phone even though many will be redundant on the pose to the local cafe and never used Top trumps of the bike park Yeah but Ive a Granny in the Gurkha,s beat that !

A blessing to the Manufacturer /Dealers as they cannot do a thing to the beast themselves and are locked in to expensive servicing, finance and repairs for the forseeable future Also needed is every conceivable extra including designer wear

The dream has been sold Not as well as Harley just yet but progressing that way

No its not biking as we know it Jim :rob

Now who said " You don,t need an adventure bike to have an adventure on a bike "!

All hail the future !
May your God go with you ( Dave Allen )

So they say but I think it's an Urban Myth because they lock the gates at night - don't ask me how I know!

Not sure where you are going with this, is it just a general comment or more specifically aimed at me?

Hmmmmmmmm I am 56 and I bought one, I can do stuff myself but I don't have to these days - why is doing stuff yourself such a big thing anyway?, I just enjoy riding a bloody fantastic bike instead of whinging about how the old days were better :D

Nah !

Not a whinge more an observation :D

Particularly of current trends

I know my Smart Phone is smarter than me

Do enjoy fettling my own machines as I trust them with my neck.

Also leaves more fun tokens for trips etc More bangs for my buck

Enjoy your new machine

An Engineer told me before he died
and ive no reason to believe he lied aahhh hum .................
Ive been whinging of times gone past
Just trying to make my wonga last aaahh hum............

I had a test ride on one today :thumb

Brilliant, absolutely feckin' brilliant :thumb:thumb

Thanks for that old codger, I'm glad it was only a general rant:thumb

Yes, I do have an iPhone - and I do know how to use it!

I do like the technology on the new GS, I'll be honest, once set up how I like it, most of the buttons will go untouched I'm sure. However, I am in the fortunate position where I can, I hope, afford it. (Note the avatar). It will be well cared for and dealer serviced which, I won't moan about as I'm sure there are more expensive bikes out there to run (nearly went for a Panigale but I've done the Ducati thing). I also want to support my dealer in these difficult times!

This is not my first BM. My first was in 88 at the age of 19 a K100RS, loved that one, went to Italy, Austria, Germany etc etc twice. My next was a 1200GS for my 40th birthday, went a way on that too - north to Arctic circle, south to Switzerland and most places in between. That ended its life in a rather abrupt way again, note the avatar !

I too like fetteling my bikes so, I have one to do that too as well (actually in bits waiting for me to do a rebuild which, I do all myself!)

Now I'm sure there will be some, snide comments from what seem to be the usual suspects - but hey, bring it on fuckwhits!
