So, whilst my 07 GSA12 was in for recall work & a couple of little repairs @ Bahnstormers @ Maidenhead, Nutty was kind enough to organise a loan bike for me (from the dealer...not one of his ;))

Rich had sorted a rather fine 130 mile ride out route; the bike had a full tank of juice and the modes were set.....

First impressions:-
> Although the bike looks big, when on board it feels small and rather sportesque
> Throttle is very responsive & clutch is superlight
> Gear Shift assist works really sweetly up & down the box
> Never ridden on Anakee's
> Build quality was v good
> Switchgear is user friendly (apart from the indicator stalk.....I kept pressing the horn!!)

The ride out.....fook me, it peforms like a sports bike!!! We were very 'progressive' whilst out, and I was throwing it around like I did my sportsbikes and I was seriously impressed with its agile feel, the handling, throttle response, slick gear shifting via the shift assist, 2 finger braking was enough to give me my bite....the Anakee 3's were also very good & gave me enough feedback.

Rich found some great twisties so I could stick the LC hard into the corners to see how the suspension responded.....it was on rails & felt superb. Had both wheels in the air @ various points on the ride and the electronics kicked in without any drama's :D

Would I have one......hell yeah!!!!

Will I get one.....if I get a good deal......hell yeah!!!!

Nice one Keith, sounds like you enjoyed it are you test riding anything else ?

I really enjoyed it Stevie; Rich had organised a really decent ride out which allowed me to put the LC fully to the test; for comparison, I'll have a go on the KTM 1190 & 1290.....but there's nothing else on my list simply because there's nothing else that takes my fancy :D

It is indeed a sweet ride :thumb2

The watercooled is a hoot , they even sound quite good if you thrash them.

What sort of discounts can be had on the GSA anyone know? Are they available from stock? Got test rides lined up this week on the s1000xr and the adventure, hoping its a noticeable difference from my gs water-cooled.

Nice one, Keith.:thumb

BMW has done a great job of transforming the GSA into a Jekyll and Hyde bike. One minute you can bimble along in Road mode, then next, stick into Dynamic, and open the taps. It's not sportbike fast, but it isn't meant to be. This is a bike you can ride all day, every day, with a bloody big grin on your face.:beerjug:

I would never have considered a GSA, and always said it was too much, or too big, but the way the weight disappears and will hustle along, you'd have to be a very good rider to leave one of these behind on a regular GS.

Let's see what deal the chaps at Bahnstormer put on the table, then we'll get them to knock a bit more off!:D

Somewhere between 5-10%, depending on your dealer. Don't try comparing the XR with the GSA though, as they are completely different bikes, the only similarity being the riding position.

I saved £850 on the new GSA!

Very impressed on how it rides and does feel sporty compared to the TC in which it replaced!
Gearshift assist pro works an absolute treat and makes you attack everything from turns to slip roads and sports bikes.

I've got the HP exhaust on mine and it really gives a presence of sound to match the looks.

The route you took us on helped alot, as it had a really good mix of roads tha allowed me to see how the bike felt/performed :thumb2

Over to Bahnstormers now to see how they will tempt me....:green gri

Look forward to that Keith :thumb2

And look forward to seeing the new bike as and when the deal is done!

Now I'm confused... Last week I started a thread .... dilemma .... Stick or swop..... No not the wife...

Should I change my 2013 triple black GSA for a new LC .... I've been offered a fantastic deal by Williams in Manchester.. ( always cheaper up North !! )

But the feed back I've had on my thread is stick !!!!! And constructive feedback on the quality of the new bikes

Reading your thread... It's like we are discussing 2 different bikes ... :blast

Out of 58 posts in your thread, about 5 of them were about the OP, the rest just descended into a load of old women winding each other up!:D

Go and have a day on an LC GSA, and you won't be asking for anyone's advice on whether to stick or swap.:green gri

Mine could be for sale if I really "really" like the XR
Just a thought for those of you wanting a well sorted GSA LC

I can't believe you're thinking of swapping at the moment, not after the exhaustive winter re-build you've just undertaken on your own bike, you must've really enjoyed the Wasserboxer ;)

Good to hear. Fancy one of these myself at some point. Have been mooching around the Motorrad website and darned if I can find a comparison for the standard 12GSA, XE & TE.

Stevie....she needed some proper T(LC).....see what I did there!!!! :D

If I'm going to get maximum dough for mine, it needed some cosmetic work completing as I'm not in the habit of selling a lump of shite. I want the new owner to enjoy it as much as I've done in the best possible condition.

I haven't had a new bike since 2003, and TBH, I'd be quite happy buying a demo LC.....just depends on what deal is presented to me when the time is right....:D

I see what you did there..........and agree you're more likely to move it on with the cosmetic issues sorted, happy hunting :thumby:
