How the "f" does "Have you checked your fork stanchion pinch bolts, or checked for play in the rear wheel recently" equate to being dead. It aint day to day maintenance. It aint monthly mantenance. If you have your bike serviced according to manufacturers schedules, you just dont need to worry about this kind of crap.

Tell that to one of the guys on here, who turned the bars to turn and the wheel/forks went straight on..........because the lower fork pinch bolts loosened off on his 1200GS.

All serviced according to manufacture's schedules, my friend.

It's what happens between 6000 mile services that counts in the real world :nenau

Read all about it here

Then get out there with your torque wrench............pronto

Yep, he was the one who went for test rides on the 1150 and the 1200 and was able to tell us that the headlights were crap on both of them, having ridden both in daylight hours :D :D

Some of you guys are so easy to wind up............

So far, this is highly amusing for me and my mates on the beers winding you some of you lot up who seem to take to your bikes like they are women. Or perhaps your sisters.

Get real!

How amusing is it for the techs at BMW Battersea?

You're now trying to save face by hiding behind "but its a wind up" shield. More of a fecking to$$er than I first thought.

I've read some suggestions that one of outcomes of the Long Way Round was that more muppets had been influenced into buying GSes to pose around that London. Could there really be some truth in that and is this one of them?

100% correct. The origin of many of the comments on here.

Why is it that people are happy to admit they dont understand how a bike works and what the various bits do? Ignorance is never something to be proud of and leaves you vulnerable to the many cowboys that there are in the motor trade (as in all others).

As a matter of interest. How many people can I get on my ignore list and can I automatically have newbie 1200 owners transferred to it.

NLS from Greece....

Some classic posts that are probably worth a look through again... :D :D

Battersea service department

Have been watching all this since day the moment the first posting went up, a regretable insident that was rectified whilst the first posting was put up and returned in good health by the time the first few replys where being posted. A full aplolagie was given as well as explanation, a private matter between ourselfs and the customer.

It's fair to say Battersea have had there critics in the the last 2 years, poor service is not exceptable full stop. We are undergoing major changes and the workshop is being headed up buy one of the best Bmw tech's in the country , world class even as he fixes the Dakar bikes whislt there being thrown around the sand dunes, he will be making sure things get done to the level that one would expect from from a flagship dealer. Front counter staff will be there to help and communicate.

Accidents do happen and Rome was not built in a day, if you a Bee in your bonnet about us send me a private mail, if you dont and you have defended us in the last few weeks, as some of you seem to have a big thank you.

Chris...nice to see you here and posting....

I've asked Ken (Dahoum) to consider changing the title of the thread as I don't think it's fair to you guys, especially now that its starter has been proved to be a bit of a knob. ;)

Welcome aboard, and I hope we'll see more of you here :thumb
