My new 1300 GSA update, now 11 months on.

20,195 ....no problems, end.
Well that is a little spartan, but good to hear.
So you didn't break the tail off overloading your top box or have starting issues from the lithium battery or have your pannier open up and dump your stuff on the motorway, or any of that jazz ....... but, all jokes aside, it is good to see the new ones holding up. I want to see what is up for the next upgrade. The 1250 and the 1300 are not that much different really. In the Bennetts Bike social comparison the 1250 out pulled the 1300 in the 0-100km and the 6th gear 40 to 70 roll on. In the roll on it was by two bike lengths visually they said ... In the rest of the tests the 1300 bested ....

Quite right .
Most sales of these bikes are based on the 0-100kmh time .
Lets hope the 1350 is half a second faster .

I don't really care who buy's them .... lol .... But the point is most don't know about this test. Roll on has alway been an important factor, being able to pass without shifting, all that you know. by two bike lengths is pretty bad really by most accounts.
The reason is they decided to trade some low end for top end by shortening the stroke a little. The 1300 is way faster up top with more usable power above 8000 than the 1250 ....
MotoTop got 155mph out of the 1300 RS on the autobahn. But personally I don't really need that, I'd rather have the roll on in 6th gear ..... the whole point ....

look how much smoother and flatter the torque is on the 1300 - more at the bottom, more in the middle, and more at the top and far less spikey

Well that's good and all but I've seen many dyno's on the 1250 and some on the 1300. They tend to be all over the place, with the RS scoring the highest levels i've seen on the 1250, imo. The Bennett's test was conducted at an old airport somewhere with the bikes side by side in real time. But the 1300 dominated the test for sure, the 1250 only managed to nick two of the tests out of the many. It is the more important tests though, 0 to100km and the 6th gear roll on. Anytime you shorten the stroke you will lose some torque likely. I think one of the reasons they did this was to get more clearance in the corners with the cylinders. And the 1250 was never accused of not having enough torque. None of this would be a deal breaker to me though. I would still buy a 1300 no problem, if that was on the agenda for me .....
