This is my new Suzuki V Strom 650 to get me to work. It's a 2008 GT with ABS, full luggage, hand guards, and centre stand.

It only had 835 miles on it when I picked it up, and it's like brand new.

I love it, the V twin engine is so smooth and reliable, not a great deal of power, but enough to get me to work, and it's very economical, and wont rip the back tyre to bits after only 6000 miles. The gearbox is silky smooth, it's more comfortable than my Adventure, the brakes are good, but not a patch on the Adventure. The build quality is suprisingly good, better than a Transalp 700 I went to look at the other week.

To be honest it will do everything my Adventure will do, only not as well, but I loive riding it, it handles so well, and is really stable on slow speed manovers, and the light weight and low seat make it easy to move around and get in and out of the garage. I would appily take it rouring around Europe :beerjug::beer:

I agree on the build quality of the 700 Transalp....Mine was a joke compared to my zillions of previously owned Hondas (it's built in Spain...:augie)

Re pics'....Guessing here....Moor roads near Whitby?...:nenau

Been thinking of changing my commuter. Presently have a DRZ SM which is ridiculously good fun round town but struggles out of town. V Strom might be the way to go.

Whats the road tax and mpg on a 650 V Strom?

It's a perfect commuter, My commute is a 53 mile round trip, and it's just the job. My Boss has a V strom 650 and he claims to get 70MPG

I had a new 700 also and it was crap, rusty spokes and rust spots on the frame. Honda refused to replace the spokes even though it was under warranty. Spanish built crap. The DL looks great. Best of luck with her:D

Nice looking bike and a great road to play on.

Have you seen that there's this site: http://www.v-strom.co.uk/phpBB3/

Thanks Bud :thumb

It is a great road to play on. I finish at 1pm on a Friday, and this is 5 minutes from work and absolutely traffic free on a Friday afternoon. North Yorkshire......Motorbiking Nirvana :thumb

There are actually 3 V Strom forums, and I;'ve joined them all. It just goes to prove what a popular nike they are.
