Farkling my new to me R1150GSA.

Thank for the link. I bought amber T5 leds bulbs from another Amazon seller to match the oil/fuel gauge colour as you mentioned. I have fitted white LEDs to another bike but they were so bright I had to change them for blue ones to reduce the nighttime glare.

Thanks for the tip. These seemed to be the highest rated. Not out on the bike until Monday morning so will report back then. They look great in the garage though!

I’ve done similar, but with red LEDs for the top end of the scales ie above 70mph and above the rev limit. It’s an age thing, being able to read the small speedo numbers at night.

Damn this forum!
Browsing this thread and can't live without led instument lights now!!
Thanks for the link , just bought.

Part 10

John Gemi stage 15 chip has been installed, and wow what a difference. From the stock chip, to the stage 15 is like a completely different bike!! If anyone hasn’t already got a John Gemi chip installed, I’d 10000% recommend getting one! I’m fairly certain that’s the last thing I’ll be adding or doing to this bike for the time being!

Strange innit. I’ve had my 1150 for 18 years and in those 18 years I’ve never thought there was anything wrong with the fuelling. :nenau It’s runs perfectly and smoothly with no hesitation or stalling etc……

I agree with the fried egg look, always hated it, but cannot seem to find them little indicators bulbs with silver finish coating anywhere.
Tried the usual, ebay, Amazon, and a few other bike parts places.

Hi Paul,
No, I do have those but they are much larger than the small bulbs, and there is not much room in the holder once the lens has been fitted. Plus these are 21watts power, more than the standard orange ones at 10watts. Thanks anyway. Requiring these:- (Same size as these orange ones below, but with a silver coating.)

Same here, set up correctly it’s spot on.
I ride loads of customers bikes many with so called “improvements” and none ride better than my own bike with a Y piece, standard silencer and “Steptoe” CCP mod, which costs nothing, :D

Each to their own! I just find it picks up quicker, idles A LOT happier and there’s now power through the entire rev range. I wouldn’t have called it gutless before but it was lacking something. Now though, wow! Decat/y piece with the chip and Remus is a beast!

At the end of the day it’s your bike and your money, farkling clearly gives you pleasure and satisfaction rather than spending thousands every few years on a new garage queen on finance.

Health to enjoy !

Those small ones aren’t the standard fitment for 1150GS(A) indicators and the standard indicators with white lenses take the ones I linked to and avoid the ‘fried egg’ look.
I went the route of a lens tint spray to darken the white lenses, but might pick up some chrome bulbs too. IMG_5928.jpeg

O, I did not know they had changed the indicators, from 1150 to mine which is the 2008 r1200Gs Adventure which uses 10watt small bulbs, I have thought about fitting multi-Led plates that fit inside, rather than new bulbs, a project for later.
I do like the darkened lens look you added.

I’ll add, I always wear ear pro and wear a neotec 2. Noise has never been an issue for me!

TPMS! The only downside about the Zumo XT2 is that Garmins own tyre pressure monitoring system is not compatible…

I took a punt with Chigee and from what I can see so far I’m impressed!

Fast charging, a quoted 5 month battery life on the unit between charges and replaceable batteries in the sensors. Time will tell how it performs especially after the winter!
