My new LC GS

Lovely - that's the first time I've seen one in the same colour that I've ordered. Definitely confirms my decision.

Is that the TE model with the chrome exhaust?

Yep, that's the one:thumb I was torn between this colour and red, but glad I went with thunder grey:beerjug:

Not much, just a side stand enlarger, and a few other bits and bobs. I don't want to weigh it down too much:comfort:D

...And taking off the utterly pointless big plastic rear guard, I hope :thumb2

They only fit them for the German TUV regulations, and removing them vastly improves the balanced look and tidies up the back end IMO.

Whip it off sir :rob

I had a 'Graphitan' R1150GS and a silver R1200GS.....If I was buying one of these, then I would buy in this colour...I think the whole grey/silver/graphite thing suits the GS.....Opinions....Opinions....:)

Nutty.....I like it.....Nice one......:thumb2

£320

Are they stainless steel ? That's more than the TT version. Prefer the look of yours though.

Nice bike, best colour (same as mine, which is about 20 feet away as I write this... :D).

Your handover was a lot better than mine though - no run through of anything, signed some forms, gave them the money, they gave me the key and that was it...

Cheers
Jimmy

Congratulations old chap.. enjoy the new bike (I'm pretty sure you will...) :D :thumb2

Disagree, sir. IMHO, the plastic rear guard is part of the visual signature of the GS. Like the handguards, the front nose, the wide handlebar and the drive shaft. Maybe pointless (which remains to be proven), but an important part of the GS mystic.

Side stand «enlarger», not «extender.» I guess that's for the foot of the sidestand, to prevent it from digging in soft ground. I ordered one from TT. It may extend the sidestand a bit, but not much. TT had an extender (as well as enlarger), which I had on my '09 GS. It was made of one to three plates that you would fit underneath the foot, and that really helped picking the bike up, because the sidestand was a bit on the short side, and I struggled a bit (5'7".) I haven't noticed if that's the case with the LC's. If yes, I really hope TT will come out with the same enxtender for the LC.
