That looks sweet Phil - test rode the faired and un-faired version when they came out ... 'twas a hot sunny day and a mate and myself went to the dealers in our suits/tie's to have a peep ... Before we knew it we were horsing towards Skipton like 2 x kids who'd just stolen them
Faired version by far the superior version in terms of ride comfort.
Enjoy it
Thanks for the comments and observations guys. Looking forward to getting to know what one of these feel like to ride. I must have reached the age where I start smelling of wee riding one of these
On reflection, I think you're right....
The black panel with BMW on it is just that, a panel, and wasn't fitted to all bikes......Mine had one so I'm used to thinking of it as painted I guess
That said, I suspect the covers on Phil's bike probably have been painted....that silver colour looks like a paint finish rather than bare aluminium to me
Funny you should mention that. The seller took it for an mot today and it failed on the rear shock. The seller is buying a new shock and getting it re tested before I collect it. What a nice seller
Very nice. Engine covers were unpainted as original. Later models were satin black.
Belly pan isn't original on an RT, possibly from an RS. See it has a Comfort seat fitted, original was lot less comfortable.
These things are bullet proof but some of the rubber components like the engine breather hose can be starting to deteriorate now. Weird electrical problems can often be fixed by cleaning the multi pin connectors on the two control units, one under the seat and one under the steering head.
