That suggest that at least the starter button/kill switch are working correctly.
The next check is that the spark is arriving at the correct time, and that fuel is being injected, if that is happening all you are left with is compression testing and if required doing the valve clearances.
The first port of call would be replacing spark plugs, and ensuring there's a good spark, if not look at the coil and leads, as he has ruled out the hes.
From there, check that there is fuel flowing to the injectors.
Has he used any diagnostic tools like a gs-911?
As for payment, a thorny one.
They haven't resolved the issue, and I don't understand why they'd swap starters, unless there was an additional issue too ?
I would have thought two hours labour would be enough to diagnose the general problem and then perhaps another two hours to identify/fix the specific area.

To add to this, if you disconnect one of the fuel injectors, does it squirt fuel when you turn over the bike? If not, has a hose disconnected in the tank?

Silver linings and all that, good luck with everything.I bought an alternative for Leenane/Scotland on Sahurdeh. I'll collect my un-sorted GS from the shop when I get back, and I'll call on the offers of help from the kind folk on here to get it sorted.
I'm not a man to believe in fate, but I've enjoyed a good dollop of serendipity in the last week, despite woes with the GS.
- I found an alternative bike which I'm very excited about, and in all likelihood - if I can make it work out - could also become a keeper (along with my GS). I even got an appointment for Friday morning to register/VRT it en route to Leenane.
- My band played a great gig on Sahurdeh night at the road racing in Skerries. Met a lovely couple from Oz who've been on the road for three years on a Super Tenere who loved the gig.
- I met a girl at the gig. A girl I've fancied for years. I got the vibe she likes me too. Asked me out for coffee.
Everything's coming up PhaedrusMC...
