Bob, I'm really not sure, at the moment the whole situation is as clear as mud and despite requests to the DSA we are still waiting for precise clarification on how the new system will work. Great eh! Two months to go before this new legislation is invoked and the government agency responsible are unable to give us chapter and verse. I've a feeling it is going to be overly complicated and will need a flow chart to work it all out![]()
Only to be expected from the Dual Standards Agency Mike. Look at the EU directive that gave us the mod 1 and 2 tests and then look at what the DSA included in the test in addition to the legal requirement as an example of how they operate. And ask yourself why they expect a candidate to carry out rear observations whilst on an off road test that is designed to check that a candidate has the slow speed control needed. One of my trainees finished the collision avoidance exercise recently and he drove over to gate without looking over his shoulder before moving away. When the examiner opened the gate he drove off, again without looking. He picked up two minor faults for those two missed observations, even though he had completed all the test exercises. Luckily he had only picked up one minor up to then.
