What Mileage are you getting to the tank now? I'm after a s10 at the moment. Where did you pick up the top box? I'm in Dublin too.
I have a ktm smt at the moment but it's only managing 190km before the light goes on.

Im getting roughly 200-240 mls. I commute most days, but last weekend I was up north of the border on photo rally. Was getting good mpg. The reserve is 4 ltrs so i normally fill up when reserve comes on, thats around 190 mls afaik. I had got it for sale to buy the ze model, but some plank wasted my time completely. So i withdrew the add. I got the box in Megabikes where the bike was bought.

Since around 21k kms the engine has loosened up, A LOT. More peppy and free spinning it feels. You can flash the ecu and remove the headers ( change to arrow headers ) to get better mpg and remove the restrictor in the few couple of gears. Makes a huge diference apparently.

It will be a little heavier than the ktm, but its an incredible bike, you wont be disappointed. They are hard to come by here. Very smooth bike. I had a choice of the GS and Explorer, but the Yam is a much better bike, no question and I aint just saying that.

If you're after high mpg id suggest that new 1000 Vstrom. I didnt like it one bit, rode one for two days. Its supposed to return good mpg but i wouldnt buy one at all, ever.

Mine picked up 2-3mpg in all conditions with the ECU-Flash.

Went from 165-180 before fuel light to 175-190, enough to be noticeable. Very much like the old A\C GS in that on slower roads the MPG is very good, but not so great at high speed cruising, I would say it is a bit better than my 2008 GS was above 80mph, and about the same below that.

Steady riding (or riding tight Alpine Passes) will see 200 miles before the fuel light on mine - and at that pace another 50 before it will run dry.

Fiar play Rasher, more informed than my response

I only know mileages from touring, my around home use tends to be more mixed, but when touring I get whole days doing a certain type of riding, was stunned to see 200 miles before fuel light two-up.

Like most bikes the first fuel bars take ages to drop, and then you seem to go from half a tank to empty in 40 miles, unless somewhere very remote I am happy to ride until the light comes on - an easy 40 miles at a brisk pace.

Just wodneirng who's put what rear shock into their bike?

I dont want ohlins, way too pricey for my needs. ( even though I have them on the ducati )
