Here is my ride report will add to this, as well into it now, currently in Innsbruck.

Start date Wednesday 28 August, two weeks away (travelling on my own), France, Italy, Austria, Germany, Belgium, an early retirement present to myself, having not done a big trip for a few years now. New Replacement left shoulder joint in 2022, having been forced to jack bikes in for a bit, the acid test will it be ok, taken extra pain relief tablets for backup just in case.

Early start 6.45am from near huddersfield, heading for Euro Tunnel down the A1.

Luggage wise - Bike has touratech metal 38L side panniers with the inner bags and an enduristan small roll bag.

I get there an hour early to the tunnel and they let me pick an earlier train free of charge, always impressed by euro tunnel.

Not had much time to prep routes properly and only just got my head round basecamp, so my Garmin xt is on map duties.

A few other bikes on the tunnel, chat to a guy from preston on a gsa eho helps me set my dash to km’s, two guys on Harley’s asking for allen keys and tie strips already, something about loose luggage bracket and a broken tank mount.

Destination night 1 france st quentin, le florence. Cheap, cheerful, clean, and secure bike parking. Ive been a few times now and its always been a good stop off.IMG_6106.jpegIMG_6734.jpegIMG_6739.jpeg

Evening tea was average (left side pub) , steak a bit chewy. “Two ball’ budget rally group there at the pub, i was sat next to the inbetweeners who were doing a trip in a yellow punto.IMG_6741.jpegIMG_6748.jpegIMG_6746.jpeg911ED08A-A866-4B97-B193-C4F764F49E81.jpeg8B81F680-FD25-4782-AF52-8E4B334D20D6.jpeg

South good and hopefully you get some decent weather like we have had.
Was going to ask near Huddersfield bit just seen Halifax.

Very good @SiRich.
Well done!

What would he even better if you could post some pictures with some vegetables in your plates 😆.

Joking aside.
I think it be great if you could possibly link* (🔗 to Google maps) places that you are or indeed have stayed/dined at, on your jaunt.
Some chums on this very forum might benefit from this, seeing as you are choosing #bikermatesecureparkingandapoundofbutterinthefridge option.

Enjoy your trip, looking very good so far. 👍🏼

*if you not sure how to, just ask and I or somebody else will assist you in no time.

Thanks for the comments, i dont know how to link on google maps but will try later when back home maybe add it to the end.

Destination Saint Maxime France south coast, directly opposite saint tropez. Two nights here 1000 miles in and the heat on the way down was very tiring and caught me out a bit so glad of a rest. Spotted a nice lake about two hours or so out, sainte-croix-du-verdon.

Night one moules marininere and frites on the front 17 euros, taste nothing special but filling, beers about £8 euros.

Looking in the estate agents these villas are often 10 million euros plus.
