My headlights wont come out as the screen bar and sat nav bar are in the way.
I think the bmw dealer put thread lock on the screws as they wint come out

I had my unit out in less than 5 mins.

On mine I just undo the 2 side bolts and wiggle it out through the front complete with clocks attached, just disconnect the 2 power feeds and pull out the side light as it comes out, simples, its always made me laugh how easy it is to take the whole assembly out.

TBH it really is far too easy to remove the headlight or just the clocks. Search "stolen clocks". It happens a lot.

I take off the screen then access is a lot easier. One M6 screw each side and the connectors and its away. A security plate screwed (or P clipped) to the screen frame slows things down a bit.

Forwards, I used to drop the screen back but I find its just as easy not to bother now. T30 Torx key is all that you need to do this job, well on my bike anyway. Oh, and I have a headlight protector to remove so that slowed me down lol.

No need to remove the head light assembly or the screen. Just remove the instrument cluster and you have the access you need.
That way you can work on a headlight assembly that is fixed to the bike and does not move loosely around on your table while you work and you have no need to re-adjust the headlight (hight and sideways) after you re-fitted it.

Wiggle it out through the gap at the front, when replacing just make sure it locate at the rear centre in the little boss there, simples
