A date for your diaries, anyone up for a ride out on Sunday 22nd March (unless its snowing;)). If the weather is Snow or icy that weekend we can do it the following weekend, however the 22nd is best for myself.
I was thinking of meeting up somewhere along the coast where there is a good sit down chipper. Possibly Lossiemouth or similar(to be confirmed).

If we aim to be at the meeting point for 1230 and have a bite to eat we can be on our way for 1330-1400.
I will be heading out from Banchory at around 1000hrs and heading via Alford, Lumsden, Dufftown, Craigelligie, Rothes, Elgin and into Lossiemouth. Lunch at Lossie watching the Tornadoes come and go and then home via Fochabers, Keith, Huntly, Insch, Dunecht and back to Banchory.

Thats my route and anyone welcome to join me or just meet up at Lossiemouth for fish, photies & Chips.

Anyone up for it:thumb

Andy.

Instead of going to Lossie (where, incidentally, you'll no see any Tornados on a Sunday), how about the Hopeville Social Club, Harlaw Road, Inverurie.
Keith Jensen, the Aberdeen based Ambulance Service Fast Reaction Paramedic is bringing along his new BMW Fast Reaction bike (R1200RT I supose) for us auld farts from the BMWC to have a look at.
Time is 12:30. The grub at the Hopeville is the best and very reasonably priced.
Your ride can go back to Banchory via Kintore/Dunecht/Echt.

You'll all be made very welcome.

Ron

Nice one Andy :thumb2

I'd be up for that (as long as it's half decent weather wise) but I take it you're remeberin' that that's Mother's Day? :augie I'd hate to see anybody gettin' a clip roond the ear :D

Andy, if you dont mind a guzzi following you then i'll be over to Banchory for 10 and come up with you :). I dont mind if its blowing a gale and raining but like you say there is no point if its absolutely baltic!

I'll come back and confirm asap to confirm that i can get out of going to my mums or mum in laws - shouldn't be a big deal as, true to form, the wont want 'a fuss'! :blast

As for the hopeville, if i were to do this, its only a wee run for me and id rather be oot n aboot - but cheers.

I'm up for it :thumb2 Like Turraloon, Hopeville's only 5 mins down the road from me so wouldn't be keen on that.

My neck of the woods, I'd love to go but unfortunetly I'll be somewhere in India on board a Royal Enfield:D Maybe next time. For the route back you could take the Granton on Spey road out of Forres, it's made for bikes with some nice secenery over the moors, then turn left as you leave Granton on the main roundabout and that will take you to Keith and back on your route.

I just may do that:thumb2

I went last year and it was absolutely great - don't forget your camera and note pad for your ride report:augie

for that reason I have to be at home (and on account of me disappearing for most of April....:JB) .....sure you'll all have fun.....:thumb

Hi Andy, I'm up for this run. Lossiemouth doesn't have a sit down chipper and I don't think any of the chippers are open on a Sunday lunch time, the only other place I can think of is the Harbour Tearooms. I am still offshore at the moment but will check on Thursday and get back to you

Excellent - I was in the Harbour Tearooms a few weeks ago and they do a mean scone but I'm up for a chipper. Can you think of any other places up that way that have any thing suitable (even a pub lunch should be fine:augie)

Andy,

The Skerry Brae may be worth a look for you. Lunchtime food isn't bad, and if the weathers good you can sit outside and get a good view across the Moray Firth

Iain

Hi Iain,
The Skerry Brae is where my Manager recomended (he lives in Lossie) so unless Floyd can think of somewhere more suitable I'll confirm this as the rendevouz point. Its not much of a ride out for yourself if you are coming along (or are you laying on a bit of vertime for the Tornado Pilots for our entertainment:augie).
