Naive question re. 1100gs and mileage

OK, so here's the deal - I fancy a GS, have done for a long time but don't want to spend an arm & a leg. So I'm going to be in the market for an 1100. I know they don't come up that often, particularly at the price I can afford (up to £2200), and the ones that do are high mileage in comparison to yer average Jap.
How well do they cope with their mileage? I know there are final drive issue with the later 1150s & 1200s, but what mileage will a reasonably well treated 1100 do without major surgery?

So what's a reasonable mileage - 40K, 50K, 80K?

Or am I just asking how long string is...

Just buy one,sod the mileage.How do you know the one you buy,hasn't had the speedo disconected for 11 months of the year.If it sounds alright and goes alright,buy it.
