Never too early to stick a cracking event in your diaries- the National Rally of Scotland is on over the second weekend in September this year, which I make to be the 10th and 11th. It's basically a good excuse to get in a good long run around Scotland for virtually no reward other than a badge and a cheap certificate. There are various challenges, from the 440 mile 'Merit' and 600 mile 'Distance' as well as touring and pre planned routes like the magnificent 'Highlander'.
The rally map covers just about all of Scotland so you can start near home, final control is at the Suie Lodge near Crianlarich. Each of the numbers or letters are checkpoints (mostly garages or shops) where you pick up a reciept to prove you've been there.
This is what the rally map looks like:
Contact colinbpate at yahoo dot co dot uk for details and an entry form. Costs £12.00
