Hi
This isn't quite an open invite trip, but it is as anyone can enter. :thumb2

The National Road Rally is a scatter rally all over the UK on the 4th & 5th July 2009.
There are different classes you can enter ranging from a one day 200 to a 540 mile overnight ride with riding skills tested at MIRA.
The idea is to visit as many 'control points' as possible for your class, and there are loads of CP's all over the UK so you can decided where you want to go and visit areas you may have not been to before.
I did this last year (540 Plat) and had a great time, everyone is really friendly and there is a great sense of achievement once completed.
I was home in bed by 4am, got up at 8, rode the Bletchly Park for the finish and got my trophy and a "congratulations".
This isn't a widely publicised event and was canceled in 07 due to poor entry numbers.
Their website doesn't give a lot of detail for the 'newbie', so I have setup the forums so interested riders can ask as many questions as they want and find out as much as they want.
I know there are folk on here that already do this, but if you don't and you want to know more look here: http://www.nationalroadrally.co.uk

You can get sponsored and raise money for Mencap at the same time, there is also a good deal from the rally sponsor MotoComp on Bluetooth helmet coms systems.

If you do enter as a result of this post, please post back here so I can get an idea if this was of any use.

Maybe see you at the rally.

Rob
