NAV VI received.

The screen is fantastic, GARMIN and others spend endless amounts on making the screen market leading and people put screen protectors on.

Like people saying they prefer driving in FOG or people who put seat covers on their new car to save the finish for the next owner.

GARMIN have made that screen for you to enjoy.

Wouldn't have a screen protector given for my iPhone or my NAV6.

I have a screen protector on my iPhone because I like to keep enjoying the iPhone for longer, scratch free. Ditto for the Nav6. The protector keeps my Nav6 screen looking fantastic.

Of all the iPhones I've had, I've never used a screen protector, and never scratched the screen on any of them. They've been in pockets with keys & loose change, and in a tankbag/ handlebar bag with all sorts of stuff rolling around, and never scratched.

Mixed on this. I don't have a screen protector on my 7+ but Garmin know BMW customers are fan boys and muppets and would buy a lump of shit if it fitted into the awkwardly positioned cradle which blocks the rev counter.

I had a NAVI for just over a week and returned because of QA issues but having said that the unit wasn't *that* good anyway. Quite laggy, limited connectivity, screen still had quite a bit of glare in strong sunlight. Was ok but wasn't £675 or anywhere close. Underwhelmed.

If there were three brands to choose from which clicked into the mount for my GSA I guarantee you the Garmin unit would have a much better processor, double the RAM, and be £500-£550 max.

Go buy your self a stack of fold up maps, this'll do everyone a favour :aidan

I'm personally very pleased with my NAV VI. I would never return it because my drift camera dies not connect to it for example. :thumb

Ha, I'm going to get a mount for my 7+ and use that until the QC issues are ironed out. No paper maps needed, I can just hit the button on my Sena and tell Siri (within reason) where I need to get to and it automatically routes me anyway!

Couldn't work out how to get Siri when Sena and iPhone were connected to the NAVI. Bit annoying, couldn't say "tell me wife I'll be home in half an hour" etc.

I use Schuberth SRC coms kit, (crap!) waiting for a C4 lid to come out in May as that is using Sena coms kit as standard. I use a phone mount for my iP7 alongside of Nav, but I wouldn't want to use it as a Nav when touring in Europe. The bill would be horrendous! So NAV VI is a keeper, especially as it was free! :aidan

Yes I agree with you and Roll Dog can't understand why they put them on but everyone is different thank fook. I think the Nav 6 is great just need some work on the "radio streaming department" for me

Just tried Nav6 to operate my Garmin Virb camera. It worked well and turned the camera on when i selected the Virb app on the Nav6. What i am disappointed with is I have to touch the screen to take a still picture or to video. Why didn't they make it operational from the thumb wheel.

Also having trouble operating media player. sometimes i can stream from my iPhone other times it won't work at all. The artist comes up on the screen I press play but nothing happens. Hopefully there will be an update soon to fix this problem.

I have been out today and tried my Nav V1 and could not find how to display the speed full screen like you can on the Nav V, I hope its still on there somewhere or it might be going back :nenau

I was looking for this in the nav V. We're about is it please ?

Go into all 16 boxes view, select any box, then scroll through till you hit speed, select and save. You can alter any of those 16 windows to your own taste.

Have fun.

Just took a look at this and you can set it up for 1,2,4,16 box options. So you could just have 1 box with speed on it.

I've set it up with 4 boxes... Speed, Ambient Temp, front and rear tyre PSI.

That's what I had on my Nav 5. But cannot see the speed in one of the 16 boxes on the Nav 6 ?

I know it's nave 5 but old assume would be similar

It is exactly same, no difference in set up procedure. Very informative video.

One thing I've got to point out is, that technically speaking we are servicing our bikes approximately 500 miles early for every 10k miles we travel. Am I right to think that way? As I assume that if speedo is showing under 5 mph less than actual travel speed, meaning that odometer reading is out of whack too?
