Hi all

I might be selling up my Heritage Classic to come back to a GSA and looking at 1250 models - looking at what’s currently available second-hand, they all seem to have ‘sat nav prep’ scaffolds…

I thought the new TFT did navigation?

Was it an option… what am I looking for if I want a model with navigation built in to the TFT so I don’t have to have the sat nav cradle in my face?

thanks!

All of the TFT models (whether they have the Nav pre cradle or not) have the ability to connect your phone and use the BMW Connected Ride app to display basic turn by turn navigation commands on the TFT. It’s no substitute for a proper sat Nav in my humble opinion as the instructions are very basic.

Cradle is for the Garmin Nav 5 or 6. The TFT uses Bluetooth to connect to your phone where you need to download the BMW connected app.

Ah ok, so for basic navigation, all TFT models can display directions? It’s not an extra that some bikes would have and others not?

Yes. If the bike has TFT it can connect to the App on your phone and display basic turn-by-turn instructions on the TFT. If you want to see a visual map of where you are, you would need to mount your phone on the bars and display the app.
