Refer to what I heard from my dealer there's no option to fit to the earlier models. Even you can't upgrade 2018 model if was ordered with standard clock
Most latest devices allow two bluetooth connections at the same time.
But why not continue with the Headset connection to your Nav 5 and Mobile to the Nav 5.
Why connect anything to the new TFT Screen at all. The Nav is already doing it.
Other than the BMW Phone App, what features does the TFT screen offer over what you have already?
Yes the Bike allows three connections, one for the riders headset, one for the pillion and one for the phone. The advantage of having the phone connected to the bike as opposed to the Nav 5, is that the handlebar controls are easier to use for example to make a outbound call/selecting contacts from your phone list on the TFT screen.
To early to give a full review - but I took the bike out for a 80 mile ride Saturday. The day was part overcast, part bright sunshine. I am impressed so far the screen is much better to see in all light conditions and I was especially surprised to see how clear it was in bright low evening sun.
Navigating the menus does not take long to get to grips with.

Does it have a light sensor to automatically change the screen contrast? When I tested the KTM 1290 the screen was constantly switching between light and dark contrast. Drove me nuts although I think they've applied a software update.

I have a question if I may.... when the Nav 6/5 is connected on the cradle, which has the priority for the 'wonder wheel' when on the move? or is there a button that you press etc to switch between the two?
You press and hold the ‘up’ menu button while in ‘ride mode’ (the default speedo/rev counter mode) a small icon top left changes from TFT to ‘Nav’ and the wheel now controls the Nav 5/6. I had my TFT upgraded last week and connections are MUCH better and I now have visibility of when the auto headlight is on and the ‘terror warning’ when the SOS sim loses signal has also gone!!!!

Nope. The screen is bright in all conditions and has the ability to be set to specific percentage brightness. Default is 100% so you can dim it basically which might be necessary at night I guess. The Nav 6 seems to have a sensor though?
Bit of a broad question. It’s clear and bright in all conditions. It has quite a bit of customisation and with the latest software is ‘getting there’. The music and phone (both on iPhone X with Spotify) with Sena SRL in Shoei Neotec 2 is superb and easily operated. The connected app gives decent ‘basic’ Nav but I’ve given up at the minute trying to get the Nav 6 to talk to me at the same time although when I’ve got the patience I think I’ll be able to pair that directly with the sena. I love I can now see the headlight or day running light are on now and I also like the easier setting for ride modes. The speedo is still about 3-4 mph ‘fast’ at 70mph compared to the Nav 6 speedo which is disappointing, but better you be going slower than indicated than faster I guess?
