Cant pair my samsung phone to Navigator V!

Hi All, trying to set up my phone connection to my Navigator V. whatever i try to do it cant see the navigator in order to pair. This is probably very straightforward - but i cant sort it! Any help please?

To pair your Samsung phone to a BMW Navigator V GPS device, initiate the pairing mode directly from the Navigator V and accept the connection on your phone. [1]

Step 1: Prepare Both Devices

• • Turn on your BMW Navigator V and place it in its mount or power it on.
  • On your Samsung phone, go to Settings > Connections > Bluetooth and turn it On. Keep the Bluetooth screen open so your phone remains discoverable. [1, 2, 3]

Step 2: Put the Navigator V in Pairing Mode

1. • From the main menu of the Navigator V, tap Settings.
   • Tap Bluetooth.
   • If Bluetooth is unchecked or off, check the box to Enable Bluetooth.
   • Tap Bluetooth Settings or Add Phone (depending on firmware version), or select Scan for Devices. [1, 2, 3, 4]

Step 3: Connect the Phone

1. • Allow the Navigator V to scan for nearby devices.
   • When your Samsung phone’s name appears on the GPS screen, tap it.
   • A passkey or confirmation prompt will appear on both your Samsung phone and the Navigator V. Verify that the codes match and tap Pair / OK on both devices.
   • On your Samsung phone, allow permissions to access contacts and call history if prompted, which enables caller ID on your GPS. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

Important Notes on Audio & Headsets

• • The Audio Triangle: The BMW Navigator V is designed to route phone calls and navigation audio through a paired Bluetooth headset or helmet. If you want to hear calls or turn-by-turn prompts, ensure your headset is also paired to the Navigator V (or to the motorcycle's audio system if you ride an R1200RT or K1600 with factory audio integration).   • If you experience looping or dropping connections (common with some modern Android updates), clear out old/unneeded Bluetooth pairings from both the Samsung phone and the Navigator V, then start the pairing process fresh in an area away from other active Bluetooth signals. [1, 2, 3]

Are you possibly trying to also do it through your bike’s TPS screen, too? Or to simply join the phone to the GPS device, without anything else between them?

Are you also possibly trying to mix in some Bluetooth earphones?

If so, the process is probably different.

Thank you, it was pairing to its old friendly name on the unit, and I was looking for my phone name! Changed the friendly name on sat navigation and now it's pairing OK. Off to sort the headset now! Thanks

So I've got the sat nav connected to my Samsung phone and the cardo freecom. Is there a correct order for the pairing sequence or dosent it matter?or should they autocorrect a) when the phone comes within range of the sat nav (powered on) and the same with my phone?

It shouldn't matter as long as the phone and headset are both connected to the NAV V and the phone and Headset are NOT connected to each other. This is usually the most stable combination with the Nav as the Hub.
