Navigator III Bluetooth Problems!!!!!!

Had a very stressful time with my Bluetooth GPS today to say the least!

First of all I was trying to connect...
Navigator III with latest garmin maps + updates
Autocom + bluetooth plugin
iPhone 3GS (with latest software/firmware)

It has all been working before it's just that I disconnected my devices from the GPS cause of the time it would take to connect each time I started my bike. This was several months ago. Since this time there have been several iPhone updates not to mention that I subscribed to Garmin for the latest maps and downloaded a new map! Who knows where the fault lies?

Well I'm sure my GPS is playing up cause often, but not all the time, when I tried to search for available bluetooth in range the screen would go blank for many seconds, even a minute then resolve to searching for bluetooth on screen. At this point the unit would seem to crash. There were too many differing problems to write about here. My Autocom bluetooth devise also vrashed at one point with red light on 100% and I couldn't turn it off, had to unplug. Not to mention my iPhone was rebooted severel times I can't even connect to my iPhone anymore??

I HATE BLUETOOTH!!!!!! with a vengeance and have done for many years cause it's crap!!!!

Thing is I don't know where to start looking for help?

Had another go when sat nav was in my house. I eventually got my iphone 3GS to connect to GPS but I've not tested on my bike yet. I remember at one stage today I did connect to my phone but could not get my phone to playback voice mail through my headset. I tell you it's been a complete s**te day today, i've spent alot of time fault finding and getting nowhere!

I think my GPS needs to connect to my phone + autocom adapter = both.
I can't remember what my phone needs to connect too, is it just the GPS or GPS + Autocom = both?

Sorry to hear of your problems , reminds me why I keep on using the Autocom and leads though.

Yes, bluetooth is not the fantastic be all and end all wireless system that marketeers sell to us. It can be unreliable and quirky as I have bitter experience with over a few years!

I can''t seem to get my GPS to connect to the autocom dongle therefore I cannot talk or make phone calls. Not a big problem but sometimes making a call without taking my helmet off is handy!
