I have been using a Garmin Zumo 660 for six years in the standard 660 Mount linked to an Autocom fully cabled system without any issues.
I have now got a BMW Navigator IV system which came free with my new bike (which is a modified Zumo 660 with all the Audio cable options omitted) and put it on the standard 660 mount and there is no audio transmitted ?.
We normally travel 2 up and need intercom between us as well as Sat Nav audio (BT headsets stop rider to pillion intercom for a while when the sat nav is in operation), need to be able to use the system for a week or two without charging due to camping etc., and don't want the noise that a BlueTooth system bolted to the side of our helmets generate, so using Bluetooth is not a long term option for the mileage we do.
Also tried the Autocom BT Module in various locations on the bike but the sound quality seems to be lacking and there is a background noise, even when the engine is not running !!!.
So...... I have see somewhere on the web that if one of the pins on the back of the unit is isolated with tape from the 660 cradle the audio is enabled through the standard Zumo 660 mount and enables the use of cables..... ?
Does any one know the URL Link ...?
