I would suggest that you check what maps you now have. As I found to my cost after my last update I was left with only Northern Europe including UK, with the rest only covered by the global map which lacks any detail. I found this to my cost on a recent trip to France when the satnav gave me no detailed road display or turn by turn directions from the pre-planned routes I had loaded before setting off. The Europe maps are now apparently too big for the device memory and have been split into two parts. Because both parts had installed in Basecamp on my PC I had assumed the same detail was available in the Nav itself.
The solution is supposedly to put an SD card in the device and then Garmin Express will use that space to load the maps that don't fit on the device. If only it had been so simple. In reality I did this many times, as have others, only to find that although the maps install successfully on the SD card, the Nav crashes at the loading maps stage and repeatedly reboots. Following advice online I uninstalled and reinstalled Garmin Express and retried with no success, and the same when I tried on a different PC. It was only when I installed Garmin Express on a third PC, which had never had any Garmin software on it previously, that the process was successful. Very poor information from Garmin about this so I was not impressed and was all set to throw the whole thing back at the dealer!
