NC500 Route

I was watching Countryfile last night and they featured the NC500 route which looks like a good route. I might do it next year. Let me know what you think :

It's rubbish, like all roads in Scotland, best to stay clear and tell all your car and bike riding friends

Pretty much did that about 6 years ago but I added in the western Isles as well. Done parts of it many times but it's fairly local to me.
Depending on the time you have I would at least add Skye. Get the ferry from Mallaig as the road is tremendous and back via the bridge or other way round. The east coast part is OK but nothing amazing.

On the cover of latest EVO magazine. Good story with details of the route, stopping points, etc.

Some of the super cars seemed to struggle with the single track roads

Lots of usual bollox about "speed", "handling", "taking off", etc. When most folk simply trundle to work, run round to Tesco or get stuck in detours with traffic jams and speed cameras. It's getting harder and harder to find a good road these days.
