I'm going to Morocco in April and since my travel insurance and breakdown cover are up for renewal I thought I'd ring them to discuss. My annual european breakdown policy is with NCI and costs £85.00. They say for an extra £10.00 they'll cover Morocco - I was surprised that they would and they guy checked with his manager who confirmed it subject to the caveat that the road mustn't be washed out mud or snow. Hard packed dirt is ok. Does this sound correct to you guys because I was under the impression it wasn't breakdown cover wasn't available and for £10.00 it seems good enough value...

NCI

If they say so and the paperwork backs it up what's to lose, it's only a tenner extra and you've already said you thought you could'nt get cover for morroco. Go for it then let the rest of us know if you need to use it.:thumb

I probably will get it but I'm surprised they were so quick to offer it when the perceived wisdom here is that it's not available.

David, pay the tenner & then phone them from Zagora & see what they say :D

I'm asking for a copy of the policy document to be posted out.
It works out at more than a tenner for me now because my insurance company will add on euro cover for the year for £49 so I want to be sure that the morocco cover would be worth the paper it's written on.

Change for an 1150 and stop worrying about breakdown cover at all :aidan

RAC appear to have added Morocco to the list of European countries too.

If it works, it works. If it doesn't you have spent a few quid just to find out that it doesn't.

And if you don't breakdown you will never find out anyway.

There is no logical reason why recovery shouldn't be possible from 'hard road' Morocco, it's not the back of the moon.

Are you sure the RAC cover Morocco - here's their current list of countries covered (Morocco isn't on it).
I'm going to wait and see the NCI policy booklet before making my decision.

RAC have just confirmed they don't cover Morocco....
NCI policy wording seems fair with no more exclusions for Morocco than any part of UK and Europe so I'll probably run with it.
