Hi folks,
I am just on my way actually ordering the new 1200GSA
, but before doing so, I need some competent advice before looking dumb!
First problem, okay, odd: I'll intend to by my bike in Germany, well as I was living there for ages and prices are cheaper and so on etc., but well. Does anyone know if the BMW warranty would be valid here in the UK too? As I am living here but still driving around with a German plate number, okay just forget about this one
Well, next problems are the following ones: As I am used to repair my bike myself (an ole DR800), odd I know, I became a bit worried when browsing through postings, tests etc etc.:
I get a bike without a brake booster, fine as it will be a 2007 model, but are there still problems related to that like total failure etc?
And, is the rear drive seal actually leaking with every second bike on the road and do the beemer dealers actually change the FD oil at the 600 mile (or 1000km) service without being asked or do I have to give them a gentle kick in the bakcside to do so?
Reason for all those daft qeustions is actually my real bad expericence with beemer dealers in Germany, as they take female folks not really serious, especially asking technical questions... Normally it started with: "Are you sure you do not want to buy a smaller bike?" GRRRRRR
(Happended also in Glasgow)
BTW, does anyone know the Beemer guy up in Dundee?
So, as I absolutely want a 1200 GSA, I am just trying to avoid to look dumb The oilhead are pretty different fro the old GS80s. So I cannot make any intelligent statement.
