Nero .NCO files Help pretty please

A photographer friend of mine for reasons best known to herself used Nero to back up around about 3000 pics, Nero did this by compressing the files and tagging them with the suffix .NCO

It now appears that the Nero restore program only works with 1 .NCO file at at a time.

We know that it is possible to rename the files to .zip and then can use various other programs to restore the files.

So my first question is, can anyone tell me/us how to 'Batch rename' the files, we've tried Ctrl A - right click - rename, and this method did work once but somehow the .NCO suffix has reappeared.

Second question, can anyone recomend a program for 'Batch unzipping' preferably a free one but she (Wendy) isn't averse to having to pay for a program if it does the job.

Vista or XP?

COPY the files first into another folder in case it all goes tits up

Go into a Command prompt - then change directory (CD) to where you copied the files then type

RENAME *.NCO *.ZIP

You should be able to select multiple .ZIP files and "extract all"

Try opening a command prompt using CD to change to the folder holding the nero files and then type

REN *.NCO *.ZIP
