My wife’s renewal came through and was cheaper than last year but as always I do the round of comparison sites.

All prices with LV

Last year £325,
Renewal £294, both with £150 vol excess.

Via Comparethemarket still with LV £281, no vol excess and a £20 Amazon voucher.

I called LV but got through to India and got absolutely no sense out of the operative.

So, I’ll let the policy end and buy through the comparison sites.

Definitely worth checking lads…

Motor insurance is, like many other classes of insurance, cyclical. Prises rise and fall, driven by a number of factors. Prices are falling at the moment across lots of different classes, as insurers move back towards competing for premium income and market share.

It always pays to shop around, not least as what suits one person (in this case the OP’s wife and her car) might not suit another bod or bods.

Update.

Gocompare, again with LV and £250 vol excess comes out at £235, BUT free excess insurance cover so I can claim up to £250 of my excess back ( no £20 amazon voucher though 🙄).

Obviously I’ll check all documents when they arrive just in case I’ve missed anything.

Missus has full NCD and we’ve protected that (about £12 included in total price).

She’s well happy a it’s a £90 saving over last years price.

Not sure if it's included but never forget to add legal cover if it's there to be added. It can save you a boatload of money if you ever have to need it.

Good point 👍

Is it necessary on every policy if you have it on one or more already?
