New 1250 GSA TE Rallye discount’s available ?

My 1200 GSA will be 5 years old soon, it’s been great, not a single problem and no corrosion at all. This is why I have been reluctant to change with all the problems reported on here, corrosion, loose spokes etc, but I think the time has come to think about changing.
If I did change it would be the TE Rallye, which I have configured on the Motorrad website so I know the list price, but I have never paid list price on my previous 3 GSA’s. My question is what sort of deal’s do people manage these days ? It would be a straight purchase, I’m not into PCP’s or finance

Vines Guildford had a pre-registered one on the floor today with about 10% off list price. I'm sure you could negotiate more for a quick sale.

Don’t worry about it, it’s all entertainment. Plus I collected my new bike a couple of weeks ago

That’s great news ! Did you pay for it with all the donations dad got you ?
Is he still being abrasive to his diners ?
Good luck with the flying. :-)

Hello - I'm new to forums in general but I'm about to pull the pin on a new 1250GSA but having trawled this forum its raising a few questions for me. I'm particularly keen to know what is meant by 1250.2? Are BMW planning to put new models into the showroom? I've got what i think is a fairly decent offer on a new 'warehoused' GSA with some decent savings being offered on accessories. Are they pushing me old stock, knowing that an updated model is coming out? I cant find any other info about a model update in November???? Thanks

It was a tongue in cheek comment, but, they’ll be something different on the 2020 bike I’m sure. If you been offered a 1250 at a good deal and it suits you, then buy it and enjoy it. On the other hand, you’ve only got to wait another month and you’ll know what new for 2020, when its all shown at EICMA.

Thanks for coming back to me on this thread. I've done some searching on the internet, only thing i can find is that BMW are planning to keep the same colour line up for 2020 according to their press releases and they'll likely switch up one of the colours for 2021...and probably some minor technical tweaks.

I might speak to my dealer and highlight my reservations about any potential model updates...he may sweeten the deal a little bit more to get me to commit now. I'm really not fussed about the colours, they all look great in my opinion.

Thanks

You'll probably find dealers very non committal about the short term future. They claim to be kept very much in the dark by BMW regarding updates and modifications. This may be true or not but they are interested in the short term, what is available to shift out of stocks. No good to them everyone hanging fire until the next model is produced.

For example 'Hill Start Assist'. Not many weeks after I bought my TB it was introduced as a new feature. I quite like the feature for occasional use. I could however have mine updated by computer for a cost. I believe it was wrong side of £200

The other source of course is 'the rumour machine' which is fed with fake news and wish lists combined with the odd snippet of truth.

One of the indicators as to how sales are going is when they start including incentives such as free luggage. Triple Blacks tend to be manufactured towards the end of particular model runs for some reason, although I stand to be corrected on that one.

As to whether there will be any impact from Brexit if or when it happens, who knows.

Both my 2009 GS and 2012 RT had more paint flaking off their engines at two years old than my 2014 GS LC did. BMW still changed the engine and driveshaft on the 2014 model though after I complained about a few white flecks of corrosion :thumby: The rest of the bike was immaculate and still was at five years old when I changed it for a new bike.

There are deals to be done. They have just announced 'free' luggage which simply indicates they need to incentivise demand. Call as many dealers you can. Convince them you are going to buy a bike now, either stock or factory build. You can do cash or PCP. Then ask for what they have to offer. Then ask for the best deal. Then call back and ask for their drop-dead deal. You will get a discount.

Free luggage? Is this across the dealer network or just a dealer group e.g. Coopers?

arses! only picked mine up two weeks ago

Well that's what happens when you have an itchy Credit Card and can't wait until Winter.

You know there are always deals outside 'biking season' :D

At least they haven't dropped the price by £3500 like Honda and KTM have a nasty habit of doing.

on the up side did get a good deal, I try to buy this time of year or later for buying privately..new pride and joy covered in road cack from todays 340 mile spin
