I have seen some new LED indicators on a 2009 gsa in the showroom.
Was wondering if anyone had bought some of these to fit an earlier bike. if thats possible

LED Indicators

I was told by one of the BMW staff at the NEC show that they are a straight replacement for the standard indicators, and cost around £80 a set

Just done mine, pain in the arse job, you have to strip down the back end to get to 2 plugs under the seat, but they all plug in and work well, BM priced them at £105 a set, and I just paid £80 of a guy who had them for two weeks, so they had better not be £80 from the dealer :( if they are I would have bought new.

And if you put them on the pre 08 models I belive you need a loom at £18 for the job.

Is it just me, or is that a serious rip off ?

That is a lot of money to be draining from a captive market, special loom etc.

me too

Hi Les
just fitted mine got them from Bahnstormers
upon collection Darrens last words to me were - they are easy to fit and a bloke of my caliber should have no problem
as you said - stripped the arse end out - fitted the new indicators - and i couldnt beleive it - they were great and worked a treat - much brighter and clearer.
taped everything up
put the arse end together - called Ruth down to have a look - and she was impressed.
next removed the front indicator
no problem - getting much quicker now - then
FCUKkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk :eek::eek::eek:
i had successfully fitted the front indicators on the rear
what a TWAT - now i had really earned the right to wear the suit :augie:D
anyway
quick change and all was ok - looked great - and worked a treat
now i can only hope that no one on here tells Darren cos i have to go in there soon LOL

Les:

I did the job a few months ago - £105 was the price I paid for the bits. I didn't need the harness bits ('08 bike) and I too am very happy with the result. :thumb2

Did the same myself first time but was not going to say :blast

Not if you don't fit them, surely?

Just looking at the responses above, I realise, maybe its another way to prevent the SMIDSY thing happening, being very much visible.

Price of safety I guess.... priceless.

Came as standard on my 09 spec bike bought in September. Really bright!

Are those prices for set of 4?

Les did we get it right

Les not 100% sure after reading the above but here goes
i put the smallest indicator inc the mount on the front
and the large one inc the mount on the back
please tell me you did the same :augie:D
if i got it wrong i promise i will buy a twat suit and take a pic with me wearing it and post it on here :thumb

did i really promise that :eek::eek::eek::eek:

HI LES WILL THE NEW LED ONES WORK OR DO YOU HAVE TO GET DEALER TO LET THE CAMBUS THING NOW OR IS IT A STRATE SWOP FOR OLD INDICATORS
