New 890 Monster

As expected the new engine makes its way into a revised Monster. Looks are near identical to the outgoing model although thankfully it no longer has the sequential indicators on the side of the tank which I never did like. I'll stick to my hairy arsed 1100 Evo until old age forces me down the route of needing something easier to ride

Personally, I think the attraction of the monster was more in its riding than just in the styling. If the new motor is anything to go by from the streetfighter I tried, it's more refined than the outgoing lump and I think loses some of the character for the monster (particularly the older rawer models with more power) which made them such fun to ride. It'll no doubt ride well, but I'd take the 1100 Evo or 1200 over the new 890 (and save some pennies buying a good used one). The engine just doesn't seem right for the characterful Monster many of us came to know and love.
