New ADV Owner

Hi All,

Picked up my 02 Adventure last Thursday (Silver, 4600mls) and love it already, even after only about 200 miles. Seams to be suffering from the dreaded surging a bit though

After lots and lots of reading all the posts on this (including an excellent guide to valve settings by 'The Mechanic') I checked them last night to find inlet clearance of 2/2/4&6thou and exhaust clearance of 8/8/10&10 thou. All set correctly now so waiting to get out and test.

And I suppose the only reason they never used black ones for the Long Way was that they wouldn't show up on the B&W book cover shots...
Didn't Claudio have a black one?....

Is there a split in this camp re silver and blacks ones??

BTBR - too late its already had a small bashing! (the card that is)
NN and TT will soon be appearing on the credit card statement.

Will see how it goes if I can get out on sunday, storms permitting!

Not at all, we are just one big happy family..........the silvers ones are on one side in the sunlight and the black ones are on the other side in the shade where no one can see them....thankfully

They didnt take Black ones the long way round cos theres No point fecking up beutiful black bikes when there are a shed load unfinnished primer ones knocking around!!

YOu are fecking merciless!! So, explain how they use the black ones for any old numpty to fall off at the BMW off-road school.?? Do they use Silver ones there?
