Any news yet about when the Adventure version is being released

I'm sure they'll be shedloads tucked away ready to roll in the factory whilst all the people who can't wait and have bought the standard bike instead give BMW £3000 in depreciation when they change their standard WC for one when they come out

A clever if obvious marketing ploy and one I can't afford to fall for!

In the states, the dealer told me this morning that BMW told them December. But he said realistically Jan or Feb. But lets hope sooner. I'm holding out to see it before jumping on an GS LC.

I've heard ( reliability 50%) that it is RT first, then GSA next year, after that the whole shebang

TBH if the 800 had come with Hossack or Telelever forks I would have had one. I guess they don't so the bigger bikes can stand out.

I'm sure I can wait 18 months, plus it gives me time to save up!!

I'll be buying mine on launch day by the way!!

The Adventure is historically about 12 months after the bigger selling GS and as we have a new registration month in March it will be mid February 2014. The RT will be around the same time and logically the same launch date so it saves on the advertising and the dealerships only have to get one BBQ ready.
Also the GSA will be better as the R1200gs WC beta testers have sorted the problems out for us tall ones!:beerjug:

Historically BMW launch bikes separately, so as to make as big a splash as possible and our number plate changes don't have much influence on world wide launches.

We should see the RT before the end of this year as we already have the "spy" film probably launch at Cologne, with the ADV launching as last time late in the year again at the Cologne Bike Show.

The "premium" model changes have big launches.

The 1200adv came out in 2006 some 2 years after the standard. The 1150adv was more than 2 years behind the standard... so not too sure your theory adds up !

Buy Hexhead Adventure now at a really good price, enjoy for a year, make your mind up when you eyeball AND HAVE RIDDEN the new one, if you decide to change your market for your old bike will be the diehards who don't want the LC, new switchgear, want an exhaust on the left, want a bargain etc etc yawn :blagblah

For instance I could save myself 5,000 today by buying a late model fully spec'd triple black instead of an LC TE. Is the LC a better bike? Certainly!!! Is it a 5k better bike for me ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????!??!! B

Academic actually, my new camper van arrives at 11.30 today so the r100r will have to do for now. Isn't life hard.

Respect and RIP Drummer Rigby.

Looking forward to seeing the Adv, hopefully any issues will be resolved before its release. Not looking forward to the value of my 2012 plumet.

That would suggest £8000 for a fully spec'd triple black. How late a model would have this re-sale?

The run out model standard 1200s came with free panniers top box all liners tank bag and Akra.

I would target one of those at around 11k. My fully spec'd TE nudging 16k.

That's my 5k difference.
