The battery gone tits up on my 1150. Anybody got any reccomendations on a replacement.I can get a standared one but mabye looking for a gel.hawker etc if there any better.
Any suggestions?

Get the Hawker Odyssey Drycell PC680.

Best battery out there for the GS. AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) technology, No need to fill, won't spill if you flop your bike, plenty of power, does not mess up the ABS.

The only minor issue is the terminals. They aren't like the OEM. I ended up making terminal adapters so I wouldn't have to bend or alter the existing battery cables.

Hi
Today my GS1150 batery "died"
After some warnings " ABS not sync" and some bad starts...
Today was the day........ after a offroad track where i had to start the bike 4/5 times
The batery was gone...
I'm interested on this batery the PC680, can you please let me know where can i buy this online in europe ??

thank you

I've had a Hawker fitted for approx 8 000 miles with no problems.

Reputed to have superior 'cranking' power. But the big advantage for me was the no spillage of acid when the bike goes on it's side.

Here's how I connected the + terminal using brass strip from B+Q.

Russ.

i fitted an hawker to my 'adventure' before leaving the UK and they are good at cranking....BUT...they are not when the terminal decides to part company with the plates inside. this happened to me here in IRAN and now we have fitted a genuine BMW one.

you calculate the risk of spending a lot of money and perhaps have it break on you, if you are at home that is not a big deal.

can anyone tell me the chance of getting money back on warranty...it is not feasible to send the battery back from here, it was bought from 'motorworks'

i have a photo to show the problem but do not know how to attach this on the forum.

I just 10 mins ago came of the phone to Motoworks on this very subject, they said "the battery has far superior cranking power etc and all the reasons above. He also said "that the Hawker Bty did not do so well with heavy drain ie H/grips, spots, heated jackets, extra tail lights and GPS etc and advised that in my case they may not be as good as a std bty"
