Picked up my r1300gsa yesterday - went with all the packs, radar, auto height control, leccy windscreen in Trophy colourway. Discounts are out there to be had (£3k off mine - paid cash), only waited a week from decision to delivery - nice.

I chopped in my 2022 r1250gsa & have a few thoughts.

Bike immediately felt much smaller (I know it isn't), the gear change is hugely improved - feels snecky & clicky, precise, way less agricultural than the 1250.

I like the new engine noise - like an old supercharged engine to my ears.

Looks way prettier than I was expecting - less of a purely functional tractor, looks more glitzed up - I like it. From the pictures I wasn't convinced.

The auto height adjust is a game changer (and I'm 6ft 2) - love it. Also the windscreen doesn;t flap about over 30 mph anymore - you can actually use it at motorway speed & it remains stable. The 'comfort' seat is like sitting on a rock.

I'm getting the Bumot topbox plate delivered tomorrow, so can still use my defender evo topbox from the old 1250.

Sorting the insurance was a right pain - current insurer refused to quote & wouldn;t switch cover over for the remainder of the time until my current r1250 insurance expires. Had to cancel that, and seek out a new deal. Most comparison sites refused quotes, and the few that did quote were about double my previous cost. In the end could not process new insurance through any of the online typical culprits, had to do it by phone. Eventually sorted, but for me the costs went up from £360 a year to £650 a year.

More pleased than I expected to be :) I changed due to the warranty expiring on the 1250gsa rather than any real desire for the new style.

May I be rude and ask what the fully specced price was before discount ?

~£26k 😨

Bloody bargain.

Yeh - we all know that other bikes are available for less. £23 & a bit was the price before discount, I paid less.

Still - if you don;t mind the cost - I would definately recommend a look & not be too blinkered by the videos & photos online.

I hated it from the press release back in November.

I picked up a Trophy GSA TE in December other than an alarm it’s got everything else including Akra end can. Cost was £24,500 OTR not £30k as mentioned on almost every thread to do with a GSA on this forum.

Other than a friend who picked his up in Jan only seen one other in the wild. That was a TB with the alloy tank.

Hope you enjoy the new bike, I’m very impressed so far and we’ve got a couple weeks of riding weather to take advantage of.
