New bike day!

I shall follow with interest.

Has anyone ever done a lightweight 600cc? Something in the order of 160kgs all up with a bit of go.
The previous ones that Mikeyboy has built, like mine and Tetley's were 650cc engines with the big bore kit to make them 860cc.

I have been informed that the standard 650 was a bit gutless, so didn't have the bit of go you speak of.

You're not going to get much lighter as mine was around 175kg with a few litres of fuel in it. Not sure if you could take much off and it would still work. I'm guessing Tetley's would be much the same. (Mike will correct me, I'm sure)

We built 2x 450/650 based bikes, both with the later post 81 big valve heads and 860cc kits.
The motors have a shorter stroke than the 600/800/1000 derivatives and go very well indeed.
160 kg is pushing things a bit but 175 is achievable.
But with the best will in the world they won’t match the grunt of 1000 cc!
