So, picked up the 12GSA tonight ..... aaaaagh ...... just fantasic listening to it purr. Went to ride it home, rode past the door .... kept going..... 50 miles later it was starting to get dark, I live in the back of beyond, so got to the country lanes in the dark - flicked over to main beam on the HID's ( Had Vines swap them over from the GS12 ) and after 2 minutes the main beam died on me, flicked again a few times, the ballast lit up but didn't "catch " the HID burner, repeated this a few times then didn't even get the ballast flare - so no high beam at all. Any ideas as to what would be the matter with it - it would seem that it is the burner that has gone - if it had, would I still get the ballast flare ?

Would appreciate any thoughts ?

Sounds like a dodgy connection.....not enough current going through to give the HT ignition???

Can be a couple of things, are the ballasts mounted direct to metal or insulated backing?, have they touched the bulb? is the plug to the ballast in correct, I had a simular problem, worked then did'nt work, turned out to be the plug from the bulb which goes into the ballast, onto two thin pins and one of the pins had bent.
