Can someone explain this mod. please so that we can identify if our new bikes have been done?

enduro version

I think it depends on which model. I have a touring version on order and wire wheel where extra. The enduro might have them as standard.

Hi No, mine is the Enduro and you've guessed it, its an option about £350 I ordered them as I prefer the spoked look

I would not be happy

That was the first batch of bikes into the uk.:rob All others were rectified at the factory:thumb

Hi Looking at these pics looks like they were working in a back street garage, I would not be happy having my forks held in a vice with no protection. (metal to metal) I really cant believe they did it unbelievable

Ah, but you're missing the point

£15500 buys you either a 12GS LC TE Edition with luggage & Sat Nav or a Mini Clubman One diesel from the same company

On a VFM basis, how can the bike be worth it - irrespective of whether you can afford it or not

Doesn't matter if it was £10k or £50k for a new GS, i'm looking at what £15500 will give you from a manufacturer called BMW

You lost your Mojo? So you are going to drive up to the applecross pass (you can insert France, Germany, Austria here) in you mini clubman (maybe a cane hamper in the back) and have that same feeling when you drive on those roads? No chance, and that's the value :D

In reality, I'm not so sure?

You walk in to a BMW showroom - Mini, Cars and Motorrad with a cheque for c.£15500

For your £15500 you get either a Mini One Countryman D, which you can use in comfort all year round for all the family

The Mini has a combined mpg of 72mpg, cheaper (maybe free service package) servicing, 3 year warranty etc

Or

a 2013 BMW 12 GS LC, which you have to add ACF50 to, in order to stop it corroding in winter, have it serviced every 6k, replace tyres every 5k, add aftermarket accessories to stop yourself getting filthy, a comfy seat and maybe screen to improve the ride ability and a shed load of tat and only has a 2 year warranty

Given the choice, I'd take the new Mini car and save up/buy a £2-£3k 11/1150GS

All BMWs have extras to make them up to what you the customer wants, you can spec a Mini up to £45,000 or as you say have the basic package.

we are all wired different and given the choice I would have a £15,000 Bike and a £2,000 car,

Terry
