I have returned to the BMW fold with an R1150RT twin spark. 25K, very nice condition. I'm off to France on Friday, so I thought I'd check the fluids (even though the bike was serviced 1200 miles ago). I have never seen blacker brake fluid in my life!!.......I've spent the evening bleeding the system and getting rid of the coffee that must have once been brake fluid. A total pain in the Ar53 job, but nice to have finished and they work!!. I'm given to understand that one of the reasons the servo system fails is the lack of fluid changes............even with coffee, they worked well. Clutch fluid tomorrow and then I'm going to call it quits until I get back.

65,000miles allegedly a full BMW service history

I did warn him these were a timebomb

Servo packed in about 1500 miles later I often wonder would leaving the CocaCola in there have been any different or was it a shock to it's poor wee system?

Holy shit!!!!!

Stick a bit of white stuff on top of that and you could pass it off as Guinness! :D

Time for a servoectomy?? :thumb2

Mine was bad, but not 'that' bad............I've decided to live with the ticking time bomb thing............when I get back, I'm going through it with a fine toothed comb......I thought that the brakes might be important!! I've bought an alternator belt to take with me...just in case..and if It doesn't go, I'll fit it later this year :-)

Cheers All

Rob
