Thought id share my new bike with everyone, its a 2010 DOHC 1200GS that i got for a good price from my local BMW dealer, not done a lot of mileage and is a good one owner clean bike.I came from a Tiger 955i so was concerned whether id miss the triple engine...went out saturday on it and those worries were erased...LOVE IT!!

I had one of them, same year, same colour - I loved it :)

right choice

My Twin Cam is the third GS and best I have owned a great buy. They get better the more miles you put on them. I fitted an Akro end can its a lot lighter and pulls a bit better throughout the whole range.

Enjoy it,

Nick

Been looking at exhausts...but im hoping to get one through work,im also looking at a crud catcher but im going to make me own at work out of stainless :)

Remove the flappy valve and get it Hilltop remapped (or Power Commandered if that's not an option). That, and a set of Wilbers shocks are the best upgrades the bike can have. Farkles like new exhaust and such may be more sexy but they are way down on bang for bucks.

Got the same as you but black (goes better than red). No power/engine mods at all, just some "anti-accidental" damage accessories. TOTAL FUN over the last 2 years/24,000 miles.

ENJOY

Change the header before the end can if you're looking for power. I had a 955i, bought it after testing a GS1150, but it's nowhere near as good a bike as the twink. Welcome and enjoy.

Very sound advice: I'm also on my third and it's the best.
Wilbers and Hilltop the best mods . . . and I have quite a few!

PS Fastways good too.

yes i am also on my third gs12,i bought a twin cam the other month and i was down at hilltop the other day.soooo much better in every dept now ,really the best most for ya dosh.:thumb

Thanks for all the advice...ive looked at changing the exhaust (company i work for makes a stainless replacement) so hoping the gaffer will let me have one and im working on a round to oval conical end can with a carbon cap :) ..regarding the flappy valve, how do you get round the error message that will come up once you have un plugged the servo? Or do you leave it and just dis-connect the cables?

Being a tart I did the farkles first but eventually got around to the Power Commander. Ive now run out go money so have to put up with "way past their best" suspenders. I was beaten back by the costs of Wilbers but really should have factored them in from the start.

Just leave the servo unit on but disconnect and remove the cables, and fit bangs to seal up the cable holes. Worked just fine for me.

Excellent...cheers for the info, ive read a fair bit about this but everyone talks about taking it off completely!!! Time to have a chat withthe gaffer then me thinks lol :)
