NEW BIKE

Hi, nandh!

I thought I had replied to this before, but I guess not. :blast

I've come to the big boxer via the f650GS. It's a fantastic little bike! The best thing I can recommend is what some already have -- visit the Chain Gang website. In particular, take a look at the technical faq's, with the beginner's page and the history and purchasing faq. You'll find some exhaustive information about the various 650's that have been about and what to look out for. (hmm...can't be rid of that dangling preposition...:nenau)

I don't know that I can offer much help, but if you've got any questions about my experience with the bike, let me know.

Here's a small pic of her before I stripped the farkles and sold her.

Thank U Gonzomup, I have yet to go look at The Chain Gang info, but when I get more time I will certainly take a peep and in the meantime if I get any queries with the bike I will certainly ask you for any advice that you may be able to offer, yours a nice bike by the way :thumb I have added Chain Gang to my faves now.

Hi H....:)
Good to hear that you're so pleased with your new 650.....:)
I've had mine for over 3 years now...absolutely cracking bike....whether it's touring around the UK and Europe or offroading on Salisbury Plain with Bakerman!!...:bounce1:clap
Very little problems with mine..(touch wood)...had the steering head bearing thingies replaced about a year ago....but apart from general maintenance, that's been about it...:)
Anyway, enjoy the bike....they're really fun to ride....and hopefully we'll meet up some day.....:D

Hi Jaq, glad to hear you've had few probs with your gs, must be ok since you've had yours now for 3 yrs. Have heard a few say about riding across Salisbury Plain, my bro in law has done it on his ktm and nick would like to give it a bash too but not sure I would want to get my squeaky clean new one all muddied up, must take you guys a long time to get them lookin shiney again  Maybe one day I will venture over there with nick, after all, if I get stuck he can always tow me out :augie
Looking forward to meeting some fellow gsers from on here, are there any regular local meets to us down south, know that each 1st sunday a few meet at the Ace not that I have ridden there myself yet, have done Boxhill a couple of times now and Newlands which is on the way,not much happens over here on the Island though :(

Let me know when you might come over to the Ace.....:)
I stay here in London more often now.....so just give me prior notice and I'll try to persuade Paul (oblertone) to take me again!....:)
