Dont think so as the Autocom bluetooth dongle is masquerading as a headset, and so is the BMW system.
Coincidently, I tried it in Bahnstormer too today - worked suprisingly well I thought, plenty of volume anyway. Couldnt really judge the audio quality properly without a decent source. Their demo BMW Nav 3 doesnt 'do' MP3s (why would BMW choose to switch that off!?).
I think the point where you had to choose in the past between having good quality audio OR wireless is beginning to erode. That is if you havent already invested in an Autocom and in ear monitors, and dont mind only wearing BMW System 5 or 6 helmets.
I didnt try the Interphone though, and tbh I dont like the big sticky out lump of plastic on the side of the helmet, whereas the BMW one fits nicely inside.
The other gotcha is that if you ride with a pillion much, then the Autocom starts to make sense again. Otherwise its £220 for another BMW Bluetooth plus the System 5 or 6 helmet... If it could work with another manufacturers Bluetooth system, it might work out a bit cheaper. And that's kind of the point of Bluetooth isnt it..?
Also spoke to Darren about it - he says that BMW actually understate the battery life at 10 hours, as he's had a customer uses it two hours a day, each day for commuting to work while listening to music, and hasnt had to recharge it in three weeks!
I suppose the fact that the System 5 helmets can be had for £200 now makes it a bit easier to swallow. But I think my money will remain put aside for a nice pair of Wilburs, and I will make do with a wire dangling from my helmet for a while longer.
