There really is only one boot.

Those among us that have tried I'm sure will never go buy anything else. I know I never will.

Sidi Canyon Gore-Tex

Bought a pair of these in March 07 just after buying the bike. Best boots I've ever had. Still going strong and still 100% waterproof. Feel like a pair of slippers now, they are that well broken in. I would certainly buy again.

My opinion is based on a mileage of 12000 miles since March 07 in all weathers (3500 Continental miles in there)
Bought locally in GS Motorcycles in Hillsborough.

AltBerg. Had mine for 12 years, thousands and thousands of miles, and still as good as new! Made like a walking boot so very comfortable. The company can refurbish/repair as necessary. The way they are going mine will need resoled about 2020!

Downside is you may have to wait a while for them, but well worth it.

What style of boot did you go for?

only if they fit, i'd wanted a pair of daytonas for a while, tried a load of different styles but they all lifted at my heels, guess my foot is wrong shape for them as missus loves hers, its another pair of a stars smx gtx for me

I think it is called a Clubman Roadster, but it was a long time since I bought them. At the time they were available from some dealers, mine came from Rod Taylors in Belfast. I stand to be corrected, but I think that they are only available direct now.

Daytona Roadstar Goretex. No contest, no comparison :thumb2

I agree i use the Travelstar Gortex, very similar to the roadstar, 50,000 miles on the first pair, bought another pair while I had the first ones resoled (£65)
So now i have two pairs, they should see me off i'd think:D

Shep

GH Touaregs

Check out Hein Gericke Touareg boots - waterproof, comfy, robust, warm in winter, not too hot in summer and very reasonably priced.

+1

And it looks right on a GS / GSA

  • Properly waterproof (Goretex)
  • Properly Comfortable
  • Really well made - they last and last, and get more comfortable
    • Lightly armoured

Altbergs (British made ) or Daytona's - I've, like others, the Roadstar goretex.

Both companies offer a full refurbishment service.

After a few tips on here....recently replaced my last boots (Daytona) with HG Rallye 2 GTX. Very impressed with them so far,and cheaper than the same boot by BMW / Oxtar (I think they are all made by Oxtar or TCX whatever they are now called) :thumb2
